I was intrigued when a friend told me about the Slim Girls Box of Secrets. After all whoever has heard of a weight loss product that requires no dieting, no strenuous exercise and that helps you to maintain your ideal body weight naturally as part of your lifestyle?
Curiosity got the better of me and I placed my order. It arrived within a couple of days and when I opened up the package it seemed almost like Christmas! The contents were beautifully packaged, almost gift wrapped in fact. They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but using this analogy the contents proved more than worthy of their appearance.
So what’s in the box you may ask? Well, there are 2 DVDs, 2 CDs together with a styling kit and a book. The book is a couple of hundred pages long and the styling kit is not something I had seen before. As I started going through this box of secrets and listening to the DVDs and CDs it became apparent that a lot of thought had gone into this. As weight loss products go this was different!
Ali Campbell is the mastermind behind Slim Girl and I use the word “mastermind” deliberately. You see, whereas many other slimming products use the same old techniques of restrictive diets and strenuous exercise to achieve their goal (if they work at all) Slim Girl focuses on changing your thinking so that your mind relates to food in a different way. And Ali is supremely qualified to teach this approach. He is a well known hypnotherapist who was taught by the legendary Paul McKenna. He is also a master at NLP and has worked as a lifestyle coach to many celebrities as well as some members of the Royal family.
The book is written in Ali’s easy reading conversational style and one of the CDs expands on points raised in the book. It includes some useful techniques you can use if your cravings get the better of you and I found that with practice these techniques really seemed to be working. The second CD is what I call the hypnosis CD. It is amazingly relaxing and listening to Ali’s voice and the suggestions designed to act on your subconscious gives you a feeling of inner peace and well-being.
I then had a look at the Coaching DVD. This shows Ali working with someone who had used his techniques to lose a lot of weight herself. Proof that it actually works. It is fascinating stuff. The only criticism I would make is that it does contain some “trick” photography that at first made me think that there was a defect on the disc, but apparently it was meant to be like that. The only other point that I need to make is that there is very little information on what foods to eat and what to avoid. But I guess there is no such thing as bad food, just bad diet and the techniques focus on diet and mindset so I guess this wouldn’t be a fair criticism. There is plenty of information about food elsewhere.
The styling kit is a nice touch. I guess it would appeal to some more than others but as the concept behind Slim Girl is improving our bodies, our appearance and our mindset as a whole it is certainly relevant to the package. Using the kit we can decide, depending on the shape of our face and our complexion what sort of hairstyle suits us best. But at the end of the day the desire is to look beautiful naturally and a number of elements need to be stirred into the melting pot to accomplish this. And it doesn’t stop there. There is a website which includes a members forum so there is plenty of further information and discussion after you have bought the product.
So, you may say, what’s the verdict? Would I recommend it to my best friend? In a word, yes, it’s worth every penny!
